Application letter visa ethiopia

Welcome to the Ethiopian Immigration and Citizenship Services’ website. As the Director General, I am proud to share the significant strides we have made in transforming our services to better serve you.

In the past fiscal year, we have implemented substantial improvements to our legal framework, culminating in the establishment of our service under Proclamation No. 1339/2016. These changes were necessary to address past challenges and set a new standard of excellence.

We have overcome the critical issue of passport shortages by importing 1.5 million passport booklets, printing 1.1 million passports, and ensuring timely distribution to our citizens, both domestically and abroad. Our enhanced passport printing capacity now reaches 14,000 per day, significantly reducing wait times.

Our efforts in repatriating 60,500 undocumented Ethiopians and improving our border control measures underscore our commitment to safe and efficient migration. We have expanded visa services, introduced new visa types, and implemented an online visa system, resulting in improved accessibility for foreign nationals.

The fiscal year saw us generate 14.7 billion birr in revenue, a threefold increase from the previous year, with a significant contribution from foreign currency. We have also taken decisive steps to standardize our procedures, freeing over 10,000 individuals from long-standing suspensions.

Looking ahead, we plan to expand our service branches, enhance digitalization, and launch new services to ensure a seamless experience for all our clients. Our goal is to create a dynamic and competent workforce that reflects the diversity and resilience of Ethiopia.

Thank you for your trust in our services. We remain dedicated to serving you with integrity, efficiency, and respect.
